Photography

Though I once dreamt of being a professional food photographer, today it remains a favorite hobby.

After graduating from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with degrees in photography and history, I figured the next step in becoming a food photographer was culinary school.

At 21 years old, my logic was grounded in the idea that if I learned how to make the food, then I would know how to photograph it better. I attended Le Cordon Bleu Paris for a few months, and came back to the U.S to work as a chef, baker, and waitress in Washington D.C. After working in kitchens and in the hospitality industry, I found that I wanted to talk with people and write about food more than actually make it and then take photos.

Though I didn’t end up working as a professional food photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to incorporate food photography into many of my work experiences. Below are a few examples of my personal and work photography.
